How old is your child?

Top 7 Ways To Celebrate Your Child’s Birthday With a Small Group

1- Head to The Beach

The beach provides the perfect scenic background for a kids party; sun, saltwater and fresh air. Ask your child to invite their nearest and dearest friends for a small, safe yet special group and drive them all down to your local beach for some fun in the sun.

Try packing beach balls, beach cricket and any other beach games you might have (this is a party after all) and bring more snacks than you think you’ll need – an afternoon of running around and swimming does wanders to the appetite and you’ll have a ravenous bunch on your hands before you know it.

Haven’t got any beach games handy? Not to fret – dollar stores and supermarkets sell inexpensive game sets, and they’ll be handy to keep for future beach trips and holidays.

2- Arts and Crafts Birthday Party

If you’re looking to have a smaller gathering at your house for your child’s birthday this year, consider an Arts and Crafts themed birthday party.

Set up an ‘art station’ on a large table and either get your child’s closest friends around or invite the family over for an artsy time at home. Which supplies you choose to buy depends on how messy you are okay with things getting – and a little mess should be anticipated (this is an arts and crafts night after all). Our favourites include magazines, glitter and paper for collages, and playdough and colouring in books for younger children.

Ensure you’re playing some party tunes in the background and take a few breaks in between your crafternoon for some much needed fuel (birthday cake and snacks!).

3- At Home Family Date Night

Having a small, low key family night in for your child’s birthday can be just as much fun as throwing a big party, provided you do it right. And while movie and cooking nights are superb, AmazingCo has created an At Home Family Date Night, perfect for those looking for an entertaining night in with a playful twist.

Over the course of the evening, your family will need to band together to solve a number of clues, each of which will outline a challenge for you all to compete in (while you can play together, we highly recommend playing against each other to foster some friendly family competition).

While the experience is a great way to spend a low key night in, don’t forget to have a few breaks in between clues for the special birthday child to unwrap their presents and eat their cake!

4-  Small Group Party

If the last thing you want right now is a big group of children running around in the house, ensure your child still has a blast on their birthday by organising a more intimate party with a small group of their closest friends instead.

AmazingCo has a variety of party packs, perfect for smaller groups of children (think a Park Party, Disco Party and Science Party). Even better, the parties are completely organised, meaning that you don’t have to worry about a single thing (except ensure you have a killer cake at the ready – because what’s a party without a birthday cake?).

5- Virtual Party

Not feeling comfortable having kids around to yours at the moment at all? That’s okay too!

AmazingCo has a variety of virtual party packs that ensure that while not physically with their friends, they’ll still have an amazing party over video call!

From an Online Challenge Party to a Virtual Meet & Greet (where your child’s favourite character will wish them a happy birthday through video call), the parties are designed to be super entertaining and interactive, even if virtual!

6- Small Sleepover With Friends

Chances are, your child loves sleepovers just as much as you used to. But hosting them is even more fun, especially when it’s for their birthday party. To ensure everyone at the party feels comfortable and safe, sit your child down and ask them to invite only a handful of their closest friends – they’ll still have plenty of fun in a smaller group as everyone gets a chance to get involved.

Ensuring your child has the very best sleepover party is super easy, but to make sure things run smoothly you’ll need to organise everything to a tee. To alleviate any stress on your behalf, make sure everything is preplanned and organised; have their favourite birthday cake organised (it’s not a party without cake!), ensure you’ve got their favourite film ready, and plan some fun party games and activities in advance (think pin the tail on the donkey, musical chairs and charades for a mess free experience).

Dinner wise, kids will love decorating their own pizza bases and eating something they created themselves – however if you’d rather have a spotless kitchen, it’s quick and easy to order your child’s favourite takeaway food too.

7- Foodie Fun Night

Perfect for the birthday child who’d rather stay away from the crowds and spend the night at home with the family instead, AmazingCo’s Foodie Fun Night combines challenges, trivia and games with a whole lot of food

Over the course of the evening, your family will be making their way through 10 challenges and activities, designed especially for food lovers (and kids love food). Better yet – the activity is perfect for groups of up to 8 people, meaning that some of the extended family can come and join in on the birthday celebrations too!

While the Foodie Fun Night is a great way to enjoy some quality time with the family, don’t forget to make things especially fun for the birthday child – break apart some of the challenges with some much needed presents and cake.
